When Teachers Play Golf

IMG_0056The 2017 Molokai Classic Golf Tournament was held last weekend at the iconic Ironwood Hills Golf Course. The bi-annual tournament was organized by Molokai High School teachers and has been going on for more than 15 years.

This year’s winners were Lee DeRouin (gross -78) who won the Molokai Jacket and the Horns’ trophy, and Glenn Sakamoto (net -63) who won the Molokai Cup trophy. The Molokai Classic organizers and participants wants to thank Ironwood for their generous donation to the tournament and for keeping the game of golf alive on Molokai.

Congratulations to all who participated in the 2017 Molokai Classic Golf Tournament! My wife and I visited Molokai during the summer of 2011. Our experience visiting your home was very enjoyable. I’m an avid golf living in Fayetteville, Georgia USA, and did see the Ironwood Hills Golf Course during our trip, but was unable to play. We hope to return to Molokai again to relax amongst the most friendly people of such a beautiful island, possibly getting in a few rounds of golf with fellow hackers.
Blessings Always from the Heart of Dixie!
