Walk Raises Funds for Cancer Patients
Molokai Cancer Fund News Release
The first annual “Walk for Ohana” event will be held on Friday March 3 at 6 p.m. and 12 a.m. sponsored by the Molokai Cancer Fund. Please join the fight against this terrible disease — cancer. To register or for more information you can contact Hokulani Alcon at 658-0137 or visit our Facebook page. All proceeds will go to Molokai Cancer Fund to benefit our Molokai Community.
The Molokai Cancer Fund is an organization formed by a handful of Molokai residents in 1995. It was started with a large monetary donation from someone who lost a family member to cancer. This person asked to remain anonymous and requested that all funds help the Molokai people.
In the beginning the organization worked out of a cash box as an office and ledger as a filing cabinet. They successfully helped cancer patients. Today, the Molokai Cancer Fund is incorporated with a 501 c3 nonprofit status.
The Molokai Cancer Fund wants to give Molokai people a fighting chance to deal with cancer. They can assist with air travel, ground transportation, lodging, and limited medication co-pay. Please help us help our community. Join the fight and raise awareness on Friday March 3 — Molokai people helping Molokai people.
