After being plagued by dangerous weather conditions in recent years, last Sunday dawned calm and clear for hundreds of paddlers taking on Na Wahine O Ke Kai. The world-renowned race across Molokai’s Ka`iwi Channel brings the toughest women paddlers from around the globe to test their endurance and mental strength. Though Molokai didn’t race a full crew this year, several of the island’s paddlers joined forces with other teams to make the crossing. See next week’s paper for full coverage.
