Third Grade Blessings

My name is Geovanni Ka`apuni and I am a third grader in Mrs. Kalilikane’s class at Kilohana School. I am writing this letter to present a topic that I feel is a blessing in our lives here on Molokai.  This pomaika`i or blessing is fishing in deep water. My family has a boat and I take exciting trips with my dad.  We also give the fish to homeless people.  I am blessed because we have poles lures, and lines to catch fish.

These are some ways that we can malama this blessing. We can keep the fish healthy by only taking what we need and not throwing rubbish in the ocean. We should malama this blessing because you have to take care of the fish so we can have `ono fish and go fishing with our family. Can you picture a Molokai without fish?

A hui hou,

Geovanni Ka`apuni
