Tennis Finishes Regular Season
The Molokai High School Boys and Girls Tennis teams traveled to Maui last weekend for their last matches of the Maui Interscholastic League Tennis regular season, with some wins and some losses.
On Friday, they played against Kamehameha Maui and the both the boys and girls lost 3-2. Genevieve Kikukawa won her singles match in three sets 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 and Romelyn and Cassandra Ragonton won their doubles match 6-2, 6-1. Noeau Likua won his singles match 6-3, 6-4 and Kurtis Ostlund won his singles match 6-2, 6-1.
On Saturday, the Farmers played against King Kekaulike and the girls lost 3-2 and finished their season 0-8. The boys lost 3-1 and finished their season 2-6. Cassandra Ragonton won her singles match in 3 sets 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 and Kikukawa won her singles match 6-4, 6-2. Christian Ragonton and Likua won their double match 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-3.
“The kids all played awesome and the girls had a great weekend, especially Genevieve, as she won her first two matches ever as a tennis player and I was super excited to share that with her,” said Head Coach Amanda Labriola. “The boys put up a great fight this weekend with our limited roster and did very well.”
Next up is the MIL Tennis Tournament April 21-22 on Maui.
