Support Hokulani CTOM’s Journey to the National Stage

Hokulani Children’s Theater of Molokai News Release

This Christmas season, you can give a gift that lasts a lifetime: the gift of opportunity. Hokulani Children’s Theatre of Molokai (CTOM) is launching a community-wide effort to help our young performers achieve their dreams of competing on a national stage. Our students are planning to compete in a prestigious national musical play competition in California in February 2027, and we need your help to raise $45,000 to get them there!
To kick off this exciting campaign, we’re asking our Molokai ‘ohana to join us in a festive recycling drive throughout December. By donating your recyclable cans and bottles, you can turn holiday cheer into performing arts opportunities for local youth.
Here’s how you can help:
Recycle with purpose: collect your HI-5 cans and plastic bottles and bring them to the Molokai Recycle Center. Let Abe Poaipuni know you’re donating to Hokulani CTOM. You can choose to take a donation check immediately, made payable to Hokulani CTOM, or Abe can hold your contribution until the end of the drive and send all funds directly to us.
Give directly: if you know a student in our program, you can request that your donation supports their travel fund. You may also take the Hokulani CTOM donation check and give it to a student as a personal gift. This way, they’ll know exactly who is supporting them, adding a heartfelt connection to your generosity. If you don’t have a specific student in mind, your donation will go into a general fund to help support our keiki, with priority given to those with financial need.
This holiday season, your generosity can make a real difference. By simply recycling your cans and bottles, you’ll be helping our keiki grow as artists, build confidence, and share the spirit of Molokai with the world. It’s a gift of opportunity, hope, and inspiration—one that will leave a lasting impact.

Let’s celebrate the season of giving by helping our youth light up the national stage. Together, we can show the world what Molokai’s talent and heart are all about.
Mele Kalikimaka, and mahalo for supporting Hokulani CTOM!
