John “Bobo” Nicholas Perez Ill

John “Bobo” Nicholas Perez III, 76, of Ho’olehua, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022 in Kamuela, Hawaii. He was born on May 12, 1946. 

Bo was a restaurant manager at Don Ho’s Island Grill, Molokai Lodge Dining Room and worked at Kanemitsu’s Bakery and Coffee Shop. He was a talented musician performing with Bell and James, Dick Jensen and Molokai Jazz West. He was high school teacher and member of the Western Washington Painters Union. Bo is a proud graduate of Molokai High Class of 1964.

Focused on Food: Residents adapt to new grocery routines

As Molokai residents struggle to settle into routines of a new normal amid stay at home orders, shopping for food has proven a challenging task for many on the island. With Friendly Market’s continued closure anticipated until April 20, and the other main stores limiting customers to placing orders for curbside pickup, lines for food have been hours long.

Many residents reported attempting to reach Misaki’s two phone order lines hundreds of times. Car lines for shopping at Kualapu’u Market often extended to Molokai High School. Both stores have limited the amount of items each customer can purchase.…

Molokai Businesses Represent

County of Maui News Release

Twelve businesses from Molokai have been selected to be among a 130 of Maui County’s top businesses at the 2014 Made in Maui County Festival. They are selling products certified as 51 percent or greater Made in Hawaii.

The 2014 event will be held Nov. 8 from 8:30 a.m. til 4:30 p.m. at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.  Help the County of Maui – Office of Economic Development and Maui Chamber of Commerce, congratulate the following businesses.
