Rubbish Pick-Up Delayed on Molokai

Wednesday’s road-side rubbish pick-up on Molokai was delayed this week due to emergency repairs on the truck. The County of Maui Dept. of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, announced that all County of Maui refuse routes on Molokai were canceled on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015 and will instead be picked up Thursday or Friday.

The unplanned delay was due to emergency repairs to the island’s primary rear loader truck while the backup truck was also undergoing repair.

The Solid Waste Division apologizes for the inconvenience, and would like to inform the community that a replacement truck that had previously been budgeted and ordered is expected to arrive within the next month to provide for improved sustainable service to the Molokai community.
