Racing on the Water Again

Last Saturday kicked off the summer’s canoe paddling season with the first race at Kaunakakai Wharf since the COVID pandemic. Paddlers of all ages from Molokai’s canoe clubs vied for the first across the finish line in ¼ mile and ½ mile races, some crews in it just for fun and some competing for a qualifying time to enter this year’s state canoe race in August. Races will be held at the wharf every other Saturday in June and July.
