Playing with Heart
The girls’ soccer team took on St. Anthony last weekend on Maui, and while they lost both games 0-4 and 0-1, coach Jason Keanini said the girls are playing harder defensively.
“We gave St. Anthony a run for their money for both games,” he said. “It was a win for us, even though we didn’t win – everyone came off like they achieved something they had never achieved before.”
Keanini said they held the score at zero at halftime on Friday, and while the Lady Farmers left the field running, St. Anthony’s players seemed more tired. Keanini said the next few games are their last push for the state meet.
“We’re right there,” he said. “It’s going to be a good season the next two weeks.”
The girls’ soccer team plays Hana at home this weekend, Jan. 14-15 at 4:30 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. respectively.
