The Alcon ʻohana brought back the Molokai Mud Bog to the island last July, after more than three decades since the last one. It was just the beginning; this year, organizers want to deliver four mud bogs, with the first one, Molokai Rooted, on Valentine’s Day Feb. 14.

“We’re excited for what 2026 has in store,” organizers posted on Instagram earlier this year, adding they have been busy planning additional races for 2026 — all free and family-friendly — since the last mud bog.

The Molokai Rooted on Feb. 14 will be for Molokai racers only. It is “a one-day race event that showcases local racers and provides participants and spectators with the experience of mud-bogging as a sport,” according to organizers.

The mud bog is an alcohol-free and drug-free event. Spectators can bring their own pop-up tents of 10’x10’, but no BBQ will be allowed, since there will be food vendors on site.

The family-organized event is free, but spectators must complete a registration and waiver agreement for all ages before entering the property. The waivers must be completed and signed by an adult.
