Molokai Teaches with Heart

Each month, kumu from a different school island-wide are featured in articles written completely by the keiki to share their experiences with their most beloved teachers.  Below are the submissions from seventh grade Molokai Middle School students and fourth grade Kualapu`u School Hawaiian immersion students. Mahalo to Kumu Loke Han of Kualapu`u and Iolani Kuoha of Molokai Middle for gathering the students’ contributions.

I chose Kumu Kaho`iwai (English) as the most beloved teacher at Molokai Middle School because she is funny and she continues to encourage us to do good in life, especially when we get older as we make our life-long decisions.

Mrs. Ainoa
I chose Mrs. Ainoa as the most beloved teacher at Molokai Middle School because she can be funny and strict at the same time.  She shared the reason for being strict and funny at the same time is because she loves us so much.  We are currently working on planting beans for our science class.  The reason is because we will get to squeeze the nodules and see magical colors working.  Mrs. Ainoa is the BOMB!
