The Molokai High School Girls Paddling crew traveled to Keehi Lagoon on O‘ahu last Saturday for the HHSAA State Canoe Racing Championships. The Lady Farmers finished 8th in the state (4:42.82) after finishing 4th in Heat 2 of the prelims (4:53.71) and 2nd in semifinal heat 1 (4:42.30).

Head Coach Stefanie Hubbard was happy with her young team and proud of their effort, “It was a fun but tough day for the girls. They paddled hard and fought their way into finals. I’m so very proud of them for pushing their limits and making it that far this year. With such a novice crew, I can’t wait to see what we can do next year.”

The Molokai Girls Paddling Crew at states this year was Laule‘a Kekahuna, Anue Pupuhi, Tatiana Mollena Na-O, Jazmine Stone, Noelani Yagin and Ashawna Davis. Great job!
