Molokai Community Health Center Expands Dental Services
Molokai Community Health Center News Release
Molokai Community Health Center (MCHC) is excited to announce a significant expansion of its dental services, aimed at addressing the growing oral health needs of our community. This initiative underscores MCHC’s commitment to delivering accessible dental care for Quest individuals and families across Molokai.
The federal Community Project Funding, which was awarded to MCHC, will be used to renovate the MCHC dental clinic. The expansion includes the addition of three new operatories, doubling patient access to dental services, state-of-the-art dental equipment, and an extended range of services, including advanced restorative care and pediatric dentistry. These upgrades will enable our team to serve more patients and reduce wait times, ensuring timely care for all. To support this growth, we will be recruiting additional dental professionals, including two dentists, a hygienist, and dental assistants, to our team. Their expertise and dedication will align with our mission to provide exceptional care in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
As part of this expansion, we will continue to provide limited access to dental care for underserved populations by offering sliding scale fees. These efforts aim to eliminate barriers to oral health and promote overall well-being in our community. As the project undergoes renovation, dental services will be temporarily relocated to the Paddler’s Aina Building at 10 Mohala Street, Unit 5, in Kaunakakai.
“This expansion marks an exciting new chapter for MCHC. We are thrilled to broaden our reach and make a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of the Molokai community. Oral health is a cornerstone of health care, and this investment reflects our unwavering commitment to the Molokai community,” explained Milton Cortez, CEO of MCHC.
MCHC has been a trusted provider of dental care in Molokai for 20 years, offering a comprehensive range of services for patients of all ages. Our dedicated team is passionate about creating healthy smiles and fostering a culture of compassion. We appreciate the Molokai community’s understanding during the renovation, and we will have six chairs once the project is done to take on the dental disparities.
During the dental renovation, MCHC will continue to offer a comprehensive range of services for patients of all ages, while integrating primary medical and dental care with behavioral health, including the supplemental nutrition program for women, infants and children.
