Molokai Artists Selected to Statewide Exhibition

Hawaii Craftsmen News Release

Hawaii Craftsmen would like to heartily congratulate the eight Molokai artists whose works were juried into the Hawaii Craftsmen 57th consecutive statewide exhibition.

This is a very competitive show to participate in and the Molokai entrants faced an even greater challenge being smaller in numbers in comparison to the other islands. This exhibition features 106 extraordinary artworks from 99 artists on Hawaii Island, Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai, and Oahu. These artworks were selected from 537 entries across the state.

Congratulations goes to Arabella Ark, Dan Bennett, Jason Elder, Patti Golebieski, Terry Klerlein, Jason Liu, Kim Markham and Carol Rocha. And, a heartfelt thank you to all the Molokai artists that submitted their work to be juried.

The gallery will open at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, and the opening reception and awards ceremony will start at 6 p.m. This exhibit is open to the public and there is no entrance fee.

Hawaii’s longest running and most prestigious juried exhibition for three-dimensional artwork opens at the Downtown Art Center Sept. 30 through Oct. 28. Juried by Beth C. McLaughlin, artistic director and chief curator at Fuller Craft Museum, the exhibition showcases artworks selected from across the state in the categories of clay, fiber, glass, wood, metal, stone, and mixed media.
