Memorial Scholarship Honors Firefighter

Live Like Tre Foundation News Release 

Molokai students can now apply for scholarships through the Live Like Tre Foundation. The application deadline for the scholarships is Sept. 15. Recipients of the awards will be announced on Oct. 15.

The Live Like Tre’ Foundation’s scholarship program is in memory of Tre’ Evans-Dumaran, a remarkable young man who lived his life with tenacity, kindness, and a passion for making a positive impact in his community. Tre’ was known as a scholar athlete who embraced learning in all aspects of life. Tragically, he lost his life while answering a call for help from the Maui County to serve and protect his community. In honor of his spirit and dedication, the Live Like Tre’ Foundation seeks to inspire and support future generations through scholarship opportunities and acts of kindness.

Applications for the Live Like Tre’ Foundation scholarships will be accepted from Hawaii residents or students who have moved from Hawaii to seek further education or training. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled in college or a job training program such as flight school. 

Tre’ was an honor roll student athlete who faced various challenges throughout his life. To honor his memory and to support students with similar life experiences and goals, the Live Like Tre’ Foundation will award six $500 scholarships for the following eligible applicants: students from single-parent households; student athletes who exemplify determination and dedication in their pursuits; individuals with dreams of becoming a pilot.

Interested applicants can apply by visiting the Live Like Tre’ Foundation website at liveliketre.org and filling out the online application form. The form will require information about how they fit the qualifications and how they plan to “Live Like Tre’.”

The Live Like Tre’ Foundation welcomes individuals, businesses, and organizations to support its mission by making donations or contributing to the scholarship fund. Every contribution will help the foundation extend its reach and impact more lives positively.
