Make Your Own Mother’s Day Gift

Hint, hint! Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 13. Aunty Rae Young will conduct two workshops at Molokai Arts Center on Saturday, April 21 for young people who wish to make Mother’s Day earrings.

The first workshop will be for boys and girls ages 4 to 10 years old, although kids under 7 should be accompanied by an adult. It will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Aunty Rae will have earring kits prepared so each keiki can make at least two sets of earrings for their mom, aunty, grandma or special person.

The second workshop will be for youths from 11 to 17 years old and will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. In this workshop, young people can expect to make four pairs of earrings.

There is no charge for the workshops but reservations are required by contacting Kim Markham at 808-349-6270. Classes are limited to 12 participants.
