Mail-In Voting for Veterans Board

MVCV News Release

Due to the COVID restrictions for Maui County, we are not allowed to physically hold gatherings to no more than 10 people for both indoor and outdoor activities. Because of this the Molokai Veterans Caring for Veterans (MVCV) is not able to hold our general membership meeting for veterans. We were hoping that these restrictions would be lifted by now, but since we are forced to deal with these unusual circumstances, we have decided to hold a mail-in election for new board members.

We are looking for veterans from any branch of service who want to volunteer as board members for Molokai Veterans Caring for Veterans. If you are interested in being on the board, please stop by the MVCV Center to pick up a copy of the by-laws to review responsibilities for each position and you may also submit your name as well. The deadline to submit your name to be included on the ballot is Dec. 15 at noon.

If you are a veteran and would like to ensure you receive a ballot in the mail, please stop by the MVCV Center or call 553-8387 to update your mailing address with Allen Diorec or Juanita Hulu. If you know a veteran, please let them know of this election as well. Any updates to your addresses need to also be completed by Dec. 15. As a reminder, the qualifications to vote are:
• All paid members of the MVCV organization. Veterans that pay annual membership dues must be up-to-date. (Please bring your membership cards)
• You must be a veteran (spouses/family members of deceased veterans will not be allowed to vote)

Ballots will be mailed out after the Dec. 15 deadline and must be returned to the MVCV no later than Jan. 15, 2021. If you have any questions, please stop by the MVCV Center Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. or you can call us at (808) 553-8387.

The current board will be resigning effective Jan. 15, 2021, therefore all positions on the board will be open.
