Home Wins for Boys Volleyball

A pair of wins in the Barn last weekend jumpstarted the Molokai HS Boys Volleyball Team’s 2018 Maui Interscholastic League Divion II season. The Farmers (2-0) got the sweep of the Lanai Pinelads (0-2) and will travel to Seabury Hall this Friday and Saturday.

Molokai won on Friday 25-10, 25-14 and 25-15 and on Saturday 25-19, 25-11 and 26-24.

“It was good to see my boys dealing with a lot of different situations but we need a lot of work to get where we want to go and it’s possible to do it with a lot of hard work,” said Head Coach Hale Domingo.

The Farmers are the two-time defending MIL DII Champions and Domingo has a strong team with great senior leadership this year.

“We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us if we want to three-peat as MIL Champions,” he said. “We all know that all eyes will be on Kaina Adolpho and Keison Poaha-Alcon, as long as they play their best and just play volleyball, we’ll be all OK.”

Domingo’s coaching staff remains the same with Kawehi Kaupu, Mililani Rawlins, Preston Calairo and Dhavin Spencer-Basa. Recent alumni Lekili Burrows and Kawena Augustiro are also helping the team.

Boys Volleyball MIL Championships are April 26-28 and the State Championships are May 3-5 on Oahu.
