HallowHim
Community Contributed
By Randy Manley, Molokai Baptist Church
On Oct. 31, a beautiful breezy evening, people poured onto the Kaunakakai Ball Field for HallowHim Festival 2016. During the three-hour event, more than 1000 people enjoyed food, music and games all provided free of charge. During the same time, up in Maunaloa several hundred were gathering to enjoy a smaller version of the HallowHim Festival in their community.
This annual event is sponsored by several of our island churches. On a night that in many places has become known for being unsafe and at times even dangerous the HallowHim event is a safe and fun opportunity for families and friends to enjoy the evening together. Keiki and even some adults come dressed in costumes while they play carnival style games, always walking away with a handful of tasty treats—win or lose.
As in years past the success of these events is only possible by the support from many local businesses and friends. The sponsoring churches would like to thank the many who helped to make this event happen.
