On Aug. 22, I left a bank bag containing a deposit slip and a large cash deposit on the top of my car. This was not a smart thing to do, as I forgot it and drove off. The bag fell off on the side of the road. After searching, to no avail, I assumed that all was lost, with the complication that the money was not mine. As it turned out, a good Samaritan found the bag and turned it into the police department intact. Through the deposit slip, the police were able to return it to its owner.
As the good Samaritan did not provide a name, I feel that it is appropriate for me to thank the whole community of Molokai for fostering such an atmosphere of aloha.
