The Molokai Lady Farmers Girls Volleyball team earned a split with the Hana Lady Dragons last weekend in Hana. Hana High School’s Lady Dragons (5-1) won 3-2 in a tough five-set match on Friday night, 19-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-27 and 15-12. On Saturday, Molokai (3-3) got the win 3-1 in four sets, 25-14, 25-20, 21-25 and 25-22.

Head Coach Mahea Rawlins was happy with her team’s play.

“Our girls experienced a great challenge in reaching five sets on Friday night,” she said. “Despite all the adversities, they still fought to the end. Although we came up short on Friday, to me we won in our own way. Our team showed that they can overcome the challenges for this season and continue working together as a team. On Saturday, we fought hard and continued to work as a team and our leaders showed great leadership. Our coaching staff couldn’t be any prouder.”

Molokai will travel to Maui again next Friday and Saturday for matches at Maui Prep (1-2). Hana will host St. Anthony (0-4). The Lady Farmers will host the Lanai Pine Lasses on Nov. 26-27 at The Barn to end the regular season.
