Girls Paddling 3rd in League

Molokai will have representation on the water at the State Canoe Paddling Championships this year. The Molokai High School Girls Paddling team finished third in the Maui Interscholastic League Championships last Saturday, securing a spot in the State race this weekend at Hilo Bay.

Head Coach Stefani Hubbard was happy to qualify and recognize her seniors.

“It was a great day,” she said. “We honored our seniors and everyone on the team got to race. The girls didn’t quite finish where we wanted, but we still qualified for States and we have this week to get ready for it.”

Team members are Ashawna Davis, Hulilau Albino, Tatiana Mollena Na-o, Talia Nakayama, Cahlvrie Horner, Kaydence Kalawe-Oswald, Sherie Kaili, Shai Rawlins and Marion Powell.
