After two hard fought games against the Lanai Pine Lasses at the Barn, the Lady Farmers Girls Basketball team closed last weekend’s home games with two losses.

Friday night was senior night for the Molokai seniors, Shaelyn McCutcheon, Paula Maroto, Camille Ledesma, Sydney Rawlins, Tai Li Tangatailoa and Nairene Bishaw-Mokiao. It was a close game but the Pine Lasses (3-5) won by six points 43-37. The Lady Farmers (2-6) were led by Camille Ledesma with 10 points. Sydney Rawlins and Kaitlin DeRouin added nine points each.

On Saturday, it was another close game with Lanai coming out on top 43-36. Rawlins led Molokai’s plays with 18 points.

“I’m very proud of the way our girls played today,” said Lanai Head Coach Christian Yumol after last weekend’s games. “Our hats off to Coach Mokiao and the Lady Farmers, they were tough and I don’t expect that to be any different this Thursday.”

Molokai and Lanai will now face off on Thursday, Jan. 25 at Seabury Hall Gym in the semi-finals of the MIL Girls Basketball Tournament. The winner will face regular season champion Seabury (7-1) on Friday for the tournament Championship. If necessary, an overall playoff will be held Saturday.
