Free Grant Writing Workshop For Public
PlayBook Group News Release
A free grant writing workshop, open to all Molokai non-profit professionals, volunteers, and board members interested in learning how to get more funding, will be held Tuesday, March 29 from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the OHA/DHHL Conference Room at Kaunakakai’s Kulana `Oiwi complex.
This hands-on workshop will cover multi-year grant strategy, grant source research, grantmaker relationships, and how to write winning proposals.
“We’re hoping to share our best practices along with grant writing tips and tools that are often overlooked in nonprofit fund development,” said workshop producer Leslie Mullens, owner of PlayBook Consulting Group. Kathy Parker, Maui Economic Opportunity (MEO)’s chief grant writer will be teaching the workshop.
Maui nonprofit Grants Central Station, in partnership with Tri-Isle Resource Conservation and Development, PlayBook Consulting Group, and OHA, received a grant from DBEDT for this workshop.
“Every time we came to Molokai for our other workshops, the folks at OHA and all of the participants asked when we were going to tell them how to get more money,” Mullens said. “So we went and got money from DBEDT specifically to be able to come back to help in that way.”
