Filemon M “David” Nanod
Filemon “David” Nanod, 97, died on Dec. 25, 2023 in Kaunakakai with his family. He was born in Makaweli, Kauai in 1926. He worked as an administrative and supply technician for the Hawaii National Guard for 37 years. Also known as “The Professor,” he was known for his love and service to the community for Little League baseball, from 1959-2016. He was predeceased by his wife, Carnation H. Nanod and seven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sons David Sr., Glenn, and Lance, and daughters Valerie Gonzalez and Madeline Brown. He cherished his love for his 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Saint Damien Church on Friday, Jan. 19. Visitation will be at 8:30 a.m. with Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be 1 p.m. at Molokai Veterans Cemetery.
