On Saturday, Sept. 4, the first cross country race in a three-race series was held at Coffees of Hawaii.  Runners chose either the two or three mile course through the coffee plantation.  Overall winner, Jessie Ford, said that she enjoyed the long climb mid-course and is looking forward to improving her time in the next cross-country race on Oct. 2.

On Sept. 25, in between the first and second cross-country races, an adult sprint and a kid’s mini triathlon are planned for Dixie Beach.  The adult course features a half mile swim, an eight mile bike and a two mile run. The kid’s course is a quarter mile swim, a two mile bike and a one mile run.  Race starts are 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., respectively.   Bikes will be available for participants who want to join in, but do not own a high-end cycle.  Entry fee is $10 for adults and kids race free. The runs that myself, Luke, and Tanner Mosher are putting together are to fundraise for our travel accounts at Aka`ula School. We are planning on going to Japan in the spring with the school and decided to start raising money.
