St. Damien Catholic Parish News Release
As we gear up for this year’s Country Fair taking place at the Mitchell Pauole Center on Saturday Oct. 21 from 8 am to 1 pm, the St. Damien of Molokai Catholic Parish would like to thank God, our many friends and benefactors, and our community islandwide that have given their time, treasure and talent to make our annual fundraising event a success. The four parish churches from east to west are Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Church in Kalua’aha, St. Joseph Church in Kamalo, St. Damien of Molokai Church in Kaunakakai, and St. Vincent Ferrer in Maunaloa. These sacred churches serve our community and help share the story of the exiled and the lives of the saints who served the Kalaupapa community.
The Country Fair is a free community event hosting a country store, plant sale, baked goods, entertainment, popcorn and drinks, and a silent auction. Your generosity is crucial to the success of our silent auction, and we appreciate your donations. Proceeds help us support the Molokai community through our parish outreach programs.
The silent auction is a major attraction of this event and features donated items that create an exciting auction with something for everyone. We are seeking new goods, services, gift certificates, island experiences, and professional services. Cash donations are also accepted to secure new items for the auction. Please complete the silent auction donation form and submit it with your donation so that we can recognize your gift with the correct description, value, donor information, and any information that would be helpful for our bidders.
We kindly request that all donations for the Country Fair be submitted by Friday, Oct. 6. You can send your items through the mail, drop them off at the office, or we can arrange for a pick-up. Early donations are welcome and encouraged.
Additionally, our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the devastating wildfires on the Island of Maui. For contributions, the diocese provided the link tinyurl.co/MauiCatholic to help rebuild and give hope to those in need.
