Charity Walk Raises $33K

Mahalo walkers who participated in this year’s Maui Hotel and Lodging Association Molokai Charity Walk, raising a total $33,150. Molokai Cancer Fund raised the most funds at $6,043.20.  To all nonprofit organizations who solicited funds and walkers trekking from Hotel Molokai to Friendly Isle Auto Parts and Supplies and back, mahalo for the effort to register your organization and walkers.

Fun times and success of the walk were attributed to many volunteers, monetary contributions and door prizes donors.  Mahalo to Michael Drew, Hotel Molokai general manager, Christine Christensen with Maui Hotel and Lodging Association and Malia from the Hawaii Hotel and Lodging Association, all assisted at various capacities.

Thrilling this year was the awarding of four grand prizes.  First place was a wo-night stay at Maui Beach Hotel w/Dinner Buffett for two; second prize was a one night stay at the Ka’anapali Beach Hotel; third was a two-night hotel stay at the SurfJack Hotel and Swim Club on Oahu with air accommodations on Ohana by Hawaiian Air; and fourth, a two-night stay at the Aston Waikiki Sunset with a $250 Mokulele gift card.
