“It was a great opening tournament for our new judoka,” said Head Coach Kalei Roberts. “They witnessed and experienced their first live judo matches. It took a little time to get in the groove of things, but once they finished their first matches, they understood the protocol and could focus more on their game plans. We have a lot of areas to improve on and look forward to the next tournament.”…

“Spring Break” in America — since the 1930s — meant college students breaking from long winter studies to bask in lazy sun-and-surf days. But that wasn’t the case for a select cohort of 13 Molokai High School students, members of the Molokai College Career Club (MC3).

The MC3, during this March 13-18 holiday, traveled 5,000 miles on a self-funded college career tour to Columbia University and New York University in NYC and Princeton University and Monmouth University in New Jersey. They will experience the Walk Niagara Falls Tours to witness the breathtaking beauty of nature.

They further enjoyed a customized career night organized by Emily Harris, a NYC resident, longtime MHS supporter since 2014, and mainland paddler in Na Wahine o Ke Kai.…

Molokai teamed up with ‘Iolani and St. Louis high schools, an alliance that got them to the semifinals, according to ‘Iolani parent and Molokai resident Jeannine Rossa.

“Going into this event, we never actually got to test our hanging mechanism properly since we didn’t have the space to build the hanging bars,” posted Coach Edwin Mendija on social media.…

Saturday’s game went even smoother for the Farmers.

“Today was a more complete team effort win,” said Rawlins on Saturday.…
