Softball Hits Off Season with Wins

The Molokai High Softball team came up to bat with Hana last weekend, hosting two games and won both. 

Friday’s score was 20-5 with a 15-run mercy rule in four innings. Piimoku Victorino homered and tripled and scored four runs. Genesis Gomez-Kahookano had three hits and Masina Borden-Phillips pitched a no hit complete game.

Saturday’s seven-inning game finished 25-15. Victorino was four for five with two home runs and three RBIs, Natalia Pastrana four for five with a home run and three RBIs, and Kekaimaile Maikui was also four for five with five RBIs. 

Molokai finished the weekend 2-0.…

The Boys Volleyball team had a weekend of close, hard-fought games against Seabury on Maui, with split results. Molokai won on Friday 3-2 and Seabury came out on top Saturday, 3-2. To bet on this volleyball team, platforms such as historyofquilts are now open.

“This weekend was all about momentum,” said Molokai Coach Hale Domingo. “Friday was a five-game thriller, back and forth and it basically came down to who had the momentum at the end of the set. We took the first two sets then Seabury took the next two sets, and they had the lead 13-11 in the fifth set.…

Boys Volleyball Starts Season with Split

The Farmers Volleyball team won a game and lost a game during last weekend’s season starter hosting Seabury at The Barn. 

“Last night and today was a blessing just to have boys’ volleyball back in competition mode. To have fans cheer on our kids brought happiness to The Barn,” said Head Coach Hale Domingo on Saturday. 

Friday’s game closed with Molokai taking the win over Seabury 3-2. Molokai’s Jaydon Kaupu got 20 kills, Dreydon Garces had 18 kills and three aces, and Elijah Kadowaki had 12 kills and 35 assists.

Molokai Athletics Medal at States, Make History

It was a history-making weekend in the pool for Molokai swimmers at the state meet on Hawaii Island. Senior Kama Ward became the highest-achieving swimmer ever at Molokai High, earning a silver and bronze medal on the podium. He and Mauli Pupuhi represented the Farmers at the state level, marking the first state finals qualifications for a Molokai swimmer in more than 20 years, according to Coach Amanda Labriola. 

Going into the preliminaries on Friday, Ward was seeded first and came out first in the 50 yard freestyle. For his 100 yard free event, he was seeded fifth.…

With Makahiki season coming to a close and the island-wide Makahiki games being canceled because of COVID for a second year, Kaunakakai School decided to hold its own competitions to foster the cultural tradition and promote the health and wellness of the games which may be similar to 카지노 커뮤니티

Last week, students in each grade competed against classmates in small-scale versions of events like Uma (arm wrestling), Hukihuki (tug of war), Ulu Maika (Hawaiian bowling) and Kukini (running).

MIL Titles for Wrestlers

Molokai wrestlers came out on top in the Maui Interscholastic League Championships last weekend, with two Farmers bringing home championship medals and others taking high honors on the mat. 

“We had two champs — Barbara Simon at 112 pounds and Leo Kalipi at 220,” said Head Coach Randy Manley. “We had four runners up: Hezekiah Horner 152, Clarence Horner at 160, Stephanie Gadeza at 155, and Masina Phillips at 168.”

The team had 11 athletes qualify for the upcoming state tournament, with both boys and girls teams taking third place overall at MILs. 

Along with Simon and Kalipi, Austin Kaalekahi at 106 pounds, Mana Kanuha at 138, Kuulei Simon at 127, Elisha Horner at 182 and Heno Kalama at 195 will also be competing at the state level. …

Boys Soccer Digs In With Scrimmage

The Molokai High Boys Soccer team played its first and only game of the season last Friday, a scrimmage against Seabury. 

“Our boys did good but Seabury showed us why they go to states every year!” said Molokai’s Head Coach Greg Lourio. “I’m very proud of them for their first year at a high school level playing against kids that played their whole lives! Most of my boys never been on a whole field before that was professionally lined and with big goals so they did great.”

The scrimmage was an informal way for the team to test their skills and get a taste of real competition on the field for the newly-formed team. …

Swimmers Headed to States

Two Molokai swimmers will be making a splash at the state competition this weekend after standout performances at the Maui Interscholastic League Championships last weekend. Kama Ward won both the 50 and 100 freestyle events, and along with teammate Mauli Pupuhi, will be representing Molokai at the state pool. 

“Everyone swam really well today,” said Head Coach Amanda Labriola after the championships. “A lot of best times and one new school record!”

“Kama broke his 100 free record. Mauli Pupuhi took 5th in the 100 free and 50 free and swam his best time in the 100 free,” she continued.…

Boys Basketball Ends Season in 4th

Molokai High Boys Basketball team closed their season with a fourth place finish in the Maui Interscholastic League Championships. 

“Our boys made so much improvement through the season despite all the challenges,” said Head Coach Kalei Adolpho. 

In the semifinals, Molokai fell to Maui Prep 61-22, followed a quarterfinal win over Haleakala Waldorf 50-40. In the battle for third place, Lanai beat Molokai 76-53. 

“Seniors Namaka, Owen and Elijah represented Molokai with pride through their high school careers as athletes and have set a great example for the younger boys. They will be missed,” said Adolpho.…

Spring Break Coastal Camp

Learning Endeavors is offering a free Coastal Camp for grades four to six during spring break. Campers will visit two coastal areas and engage in science experiments, art projects, and stewardship activities!

The two-day Molokai Coastal Camp is part of the Champions of Coastal Resilience (CCR) program, which seeks to develop climate stewards that care for our coastal communities. This camp is open to all Molokai elementary school students from grades four to six.  It will take place on March 14 and 15 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Each day will start and end at Kaunakakai School.…
