Carrying on the Torch
by Officer Sepulona Falealii, Maui Police Department
Maui Police Department officers, family, friends and community members participated in the 2017 Troy Barboza Law Enforcement Torch Run benefitting Hawaii Special Olympics. On Saturday, May 13, officers and Special Olympic athletes carried the “Flame of Hope” from the Kalaiakamanu Hou Church parking lot to the Kaunakakai Ball Park.
The Torch Run is a fundraiser to promote awareness for Special Olympics and is a year-round commitment by officers to raise funds for Special Olympics. Proceeds from this Torch Run help to raise funds for our athletes here on Molokai. Big mahalo for this year’s participants and athletes. It was an awesome success!
