The Molokai High Baseball team had a weekend of wins on Maui last weekend over the Hana Dragons. Friday’s three-inning game ended 20-0, with Molokai’s Solomon Kikukawa-Teriong hitting a home run, with leading hitters Kikukawa-Teriong, Gavin Ainoa, Seven Kaahanui, Hezekiah Horner and Angelo Duvauchelle.

“The boys were excited to play in War Memorial again,” said Head Coach Keahi Rawlins. “We got an early lead offensively and commanded the strike zone on the mound. The bats were loud all game and Solomon got a hold of one for three run blast. Kobra did an outstanding job on the mound throwing strikes. This enabled us to get our subs into the game.”

Saturday’s game was 10-3 in seven innings at Maui High School. Molokai is now 4-0 and Hana is 0-6.

“We got the subs in early in the game for more playing time,” said Rawlins Saturday. “The boys competed well and had some fun doing it. Getting everyone in the game was our team goal for the weekend and I’m happy that we could do that. Back to business on Monday as we prepare for Seabury Hall this weekend on our home turf, should be an exciting one!”

Molokai hosts Seabury (4-0) in its only home games this Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. at Duke Maliu Regional Park. The MIL DII Boys Baseball Tournament is April 21-23 at Maehara Stadium on Maui.
