The AlohaCare Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications — from February 2 to March 16, 2026. Each scholarship recipient could get up to $10,000 while pursuing careers in healthcare or social services. AlohaCare members, or their family members, are eligible to apply.

In the 2025–2026 academic year, the Foundation awarded $75,000 in scholarships to 19 students across Molokai, Hawaii Island, Kauai, Maui and Oahu — all pursuing careers in healthcare or social services.

“Every scholarship recipient represents someone who can stay in Hawaiʻi and improve the lives of Hawaii families,” said AlohaCare CEO Francoise Culley-Trotman. “We’re funding more than education—we’re ensuring future patients will have access to homegrown healthcare talent. Our new Foundation gives us the capacity to make that happen in a meaningful way.”

Last year’s recipients included aspiring nurses, medical students, social workers, mental health counselors, public health advocates, and a candidate for the Hawaii Bar Exam.

Kailana McQuire-Guerrero, of Kaunakakai, is majoring in Liberal Arts at University of Hawaii Maui College while completing nursing prerequisites. Her goal is to become a nurse who brings knowledge and compassion to Molokai’s healthcare field, serving rural communities with limited access to affordable care.

The AlohaCare Foundation empowers Hawaii’s residents and communities by creating and supporting initiatives to improve health access and equity. Rooted in AlohaCare’s legacy of community giving, the Foundation strengthens Hawaii’s healthcare workforce and safety net through scholarships and grants.

As a primary focus, the Foundation aims to reduce health disparities by addressing social determinants of health such as nutrition, access to education, and other vital resources that influence health outcomes. Visit foundation.alohacare.org to learn more.
