Albert Pu

Albert “Pake” Clyde Pu of Ho`olehua, Molokai, passed away on June 18, 2011 at the age of 60.  Albert was born August 21, 1950 in Hana, Maui and raised on the east end of Molokai.  Albert served as a United States Marine in Vietnam and received an Honorable Discharge as a Corporal (E-4) in July 1974.  He worked for the National Park Service in Kalaupapa for 23 years and retired as Chief of Maintenance.  Albert was an active member of the Kalaupapa Lions Club, the Veteran’s Club of Molokai and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Albert loved cooking, Hawaiian music, action movies and all his kitties and three doggies.

Albert is survived by his loving  wife, Lucy Whiting of Ho`olehua; daughters Nadine (Randy) Benton of California, Wendy (Larry) White of Colorado, Harrilyn (Mark) Hindle of New Jersey; son Harry Galdeira of Washington; brothers Wendell (Anna) Pu of Kahului, Maui, Fred (Jonette) Pu of Pukalani, Maui, Norman Pu of Kainalu, Molokai, Gordon (Kathy) Kekahuna of Lahaina, Maui, Mathew (Glory) Jacobs of  Waimea, Hawaii; sisters Esmeralda “Sweetie” Salinas of Kainalu, Molokai and Jade (Sean) Mullaney of Moanalua, Oahu; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. with service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at the Lanikeha Recreational Center Ho`olehua, Molokai.  Burial to follow with military honors at the Molokai Veteran’s Cemetery in Ho`olehua, Molokai.
