Aka`ula Thankful for Community Support
Aka`ula School would like to acknowledge and thank the community for your great support and attendance at our most recent fundraiser, Ku Ka Lau Lama (To Stand In The Light) held at Hotel Molokai on Dec. 4. Our Winter Wonderland event was elegant, fun, and enjoyable in every way. Indeed, it was a great success and attendees are looking forward to attending next year’s event. A special mahalo goes out to Hotel Molokai for all of your planning, preparations, and work to make our night smooth and serve an especially delicious meal. Thank you to our local businesses that contributed items for our auction to benefit the school, including Molokai Furniture, Dusty’s Power Equipment, `Ohana Gardens Nursery, Kamakana Country Store, Kalele Bookstore, Kumu Farms, Molokai Vacation Properties, Ululani Farm, Captain Dedric, Molokai Acupuncture & Massage, Dan Bennett Pottery Studio, Paul Ilia, Molokai Dispatch, Victor Lopez, and many more. Deep appreciation also goes out to the student performers and servers who all did a fantastic job, as well as the Aka`ula families who generously donated their time, services, and auction items. A big mahalo also goes to Kumu Healani Youn, Keli`i Kaneali`i, Kumu DJ Pelekai and Halau Hula I Ka Hili Ana O Ka Lauoho, Kumu Lawrence Aki and Kawika Foster for the finest entertainment and protocol. Deep gratitude also goes to Lono for your continued support, sound management, live entertainment, backup vocals and auctioneer abilities. Lastly, a thank you to everyone not mentioned who helped in any way to make Aka`ula School’s event a success. Aka`ula sends wishes for a very happy holiday season and a blessed new year to our entire community.
