2010 UH Maui College Scholarship Recipients

The University of Hawaii Maui College (UHMC), Molokai held a luncheon to honor 3 students on Friday, May 14, for their scholastic achievements and was awarded scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year.  Awards were based on students’ academic achievements or financial need. 

There were 112 UHMC students who received scholarships from Maui county businesses and organizations and three are Molokai residents. 

The Alfred Zagursky Scholarship awarded only 2 scholarships, and one of its recipients is Edwina Walker.  Edwina is a Liberal Arts major and carries a 3.88 gpa.

Brent Nakihei is the recipient of the Charles Hemenway Scholarship and the Hawaii Veteran’s Memorial Scholarship.  Brent is a Human Service major with a 3.90 gpa. 

Camellia Hamakua-Napoleon is also a recipient of 2 scholarships.  She is one of three students to be honored with the UHMC Outstanding Hawaiian Studies Award; and one of two students to be awarded the Harry H. and Lucy R. Holt Scholarship. Camellia is a Liberal Arts major and is working towards an Education degree.  She is a full time employee of  Alu Like, Inc. who carried 9 credits and maintained a grade point average of 4.0.
