The first two wins of the season were claimed by the Boys Basketball team last weekend, when they traveled to Maui to face Haleakala Waldorf. The Farmers (2-4) won on Friday night 57-44 at Eddie Tam Gym in Makawao, with senior Kaina Adolpho leading Molokai with 23 points. Saturday’s game was played at Seabury Hall, where Molokai defeated Haleakala Waldorf (1-5) 45-33. Senior Shraedon Naeole-Starkey and Adolpho had 12 points each to help the Farmers complete the weekend sweep of the Hawks.

Head Coach Nohea Pangkee says his team is doing well and hopes it continues into the playoffs.

“It was nice to get our first win and we are improving every day and are working to bring it all together,” he said. “We are happy to come home with two wins but the team is not playing close to its full potential. We’re going to keep working and hopefully we’ll peak come tournament time.”

Molokai will travel to Maui this weekend for two games against the St. Anthony Trojans before finishing their regular season at home against the Hana Dragons Feb. 2-3. Friday night, Feb. 2, will be senior night for the Farmer boys with the game starting at 7 p.m.
