Join Us for Our Family Fair

21 st CCLC Molokai LIVE News Release

Don’t miss the Family Fair on Thursday, April 20 at the Molokai High School cafeteria from 5 to 7:30 p.m. It will be a celebration of learning and fun for the whole family with food concessions and prize giveaways!

Molokai High and Middle School students will offer interactive learning activities that include creating Digital Art, Planting in Color, Act the Part, Ozobots and Snap Circuits, with games that challenge you by playing Movie Madness, Typing, and Wordsmithing. The school library is also offering a Scholastic Book service offering of a “buy one, get one free” book sale to help promote reading.

Be a part of the exciting learning occurring at our high and middle schools as we showcase student learning and projects in science, history, career technology, and the arts. We welcome your support of our students and teachers and ask that you learn with us by being curious, asking questions, and being the life long learners that we all strive to be.

Invest in our future by learning how our students are using science to take care of our natural resources. Talk with students about “Our Climate Our Future,” a multimedia experience promoting people to take action to protect what we have. Talk with MHS student Evelyn Haase, about her project, “Developing a PH Sensor using a Rasberry Pi to Monitor Ocean Acidification,” and support the State Science Fair Environmental Engineering winner as she proceeds to compete at the international level. MHS students Marion Powell and Cameryn Kahalewai, winners of a special award at the State Science Fair, also want to share what they learned by “Comparing the Diversity in Species Between Native and Non-Native Forests.” See how students transect the location of limu on our reefs to help safeguard our ocean resources by doing an “Intertidal Simulation” with them.

For more information on the Family Fair, call Diane Mokuau at 567-7115. We look forward to seeing you and thank you in advance for being a part of our Family of Learning. “Together we will make a difference.”

In it’s third of five years, 21st CCLC Molokai LIVE offers after school programs to our island’s middle and high school students with the aim of sparking intellectual curiosity, improving scholastic results, and sharpening leadership potential. Sports, music, arts and science-based programs are offered on a daily basis. Look for our upcoming summer program from June 5 to July 14.
