Students Rock College and Career Readiness

Community Contributed

By Ric Ornellas

This coming Thursday, Oct. 30, 14 Molokai High School students want to thank their many donors and community members who helped the students make a recent life-changing trip to the East Coast. The students will share their New York City experiences in college and career readiness at the MHS Library at 6 p.m. They will recount surviving rush-hour subways and negotiating crowded NYC sidewalks with thousands of pedestrians.  They will also highlight their visit to Yale University and bonding with current Yale students.

The students will talk and share photos and videos of visits to the Statue of Liberty, Fifth Avenue, the 9/11 Memorial, Chinatown, the NYC Public Library, Columbia University, Barnard College, Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York University, Central Park, ABC Studios, Barclay Investment Bank, Citibank, Grand Central Station, Little Italy, and the West Village.

A special invitation is extended to former New Yorkers who are now Molokai residents. Please join us.
