Soup’ R Bowl

MAC News Release

Molokai Arts Center (MAC) announces its fifth annual Soup’ R Bowl fundraising event, a fundraiser for the arts and art education on Molokai.

The MAC signature annual fundraising event is quickly coming up on March 7 from 5 to 9 p.m. Join us for an evening of delicious soups, artisan bread, fresh island green salad, a full lineup of live entertainment, a silent auction featuring a variety of art from local artists, and the many local artists, themselves, who make this event possible with their creative work!

The event will be featured once again at the historic location of Molokai’s old Pau Hana Inn site, now the Molokai Community Health Center.  This location not only provides us with a central gathering place, but does so right on gorgeous oceanfront property with both inside and outside seating.

By purchasing a ticket to our event, you will receive not just a lively evening of music and dinner on beautiful beachfront property, but will get to choose a unique soup bowl hand-crafted by one of our talented Molokai ceramicists to take home with you.  Fresh ingredients for our dinner menu will also be homegrown – thanks to local farmers at Barking Deer Farms as well as Kumu Farms.

This year we are featuring musical guests from Oahu, Maui, and Molokai:  Oahu based singer and guitarist Jenna Keala, who has opened up for pop artists such as Mat Kearney and blends her sweet vocals with a combination of R&B, Reggae/Hawaiian, and pop music genres all on acoustic guitar; Norman Decosta and Friends — Molokai-bred, slack key guitarist DeCosta will be joining us on the cusp of his debut album and he is bringing some equally impressive Hawaiian musicians with him from both Maui and Oahu to mix things up!  We will also be welcoming back Moana’s Hula Halau as well as Terry Neuhart’s Tahitian Dancers to the evening’s lineup.

Please know that your tax deductible donation of the suggested ticket price will help provide operational support to providing on-going as well as new art education opportunities on Molokai for our youth all the way through to our kupuna.

Tickets required for admission are $25 per person, available for purchase online at souprbowl.eventbrite.com or in person at Take’s Variety Store and MAC studio at Coffees of Hawaii. Email inquiries to molokaiartscenter@gmail.com or call our studio at 567-9696.
