Molokai Professional Women’s League

MPWL News Release

Encouraging and empowering women’s voices can make a positive difference for our community. With this goal, we hope you’ll join us in contributing to efforts that will make Molokai stronger by supporting a mentorship program for young women to engage in building civic responsibility, whereby taking on leadership roles for our community.

Molokai Professional Women’s League (MPWL) is an organization where smart, active leaders will be working to create lasting changes in the community.  Members of MPWL have many opportunities to create an impact on issues concerning our community, county and state.

Membership is not confined to Molokai’s women but is open to all females who sympathize with the objectives of MPWL.

Objectives include attaining regulations desirable for the benefit of women in a professional and business atmosphere and promoting a competitive market of opportunities for women’s advancement. We will also provide a mentorship program to strengthen and expand growth for young women to encourage community involvement and leadership roles, and encourage programs designed to increase dynamic and positive values for the community.

Board members are Barbara Haliniak, president; Liette Corpus, vice president; Rosie Davis, secretary; Jaylene Nuesca, treasurer; Lynn Decoite, director; Connie Sakata, director; Leilani Wallace, director and kupuna wisdom.

To learn more, MPWL will be holding its membership drive meeting at Hotel Molokai on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m.  Complimentary pupus will be served.  You need not be a member to attend this informational meeting.  Please RSVP your attendance to Barbara at 553-3773 or email Barbara.haliniak@hawaiiantel.net  by Oct. 31.
